I Did

There were some very encouraging and insightful comments (and emails) on my last post. To those who wrote them, I want very much to publicly to thank you. Thank you for taking the time to process my words and send some feedback my way. Your words, time, and kindness are so much appreciated.

I wrote what follows earlier today with pen and paper- sometimes actually writing something out just feels so good).Time marched on since my last post, as it always does. It's one of the things I both love and am not such a big  fan of about life.

The part I love means that every moment is a chance to make a choice different than the last one I made. Different than the last hundredchoices I made. Even if the last moment saw me being mean and judgmental or cramming my poor body full of more food than it wants, or giving in to an inpulse to spend all my time fulfilling my own desires...this moment is a new one.

No, the consequences (whether good or bad) from my last few (hundred) decisions are not gone.

But in this moment, I can choose to live differently.

I can choose to believe differently.

So I did.

  1. It’s great that you got to write this out – like you said, sometimes just writing out your thoughts feels amazing. Being an English major got me to fall in love with the healing and transformative power of words and lyrics…I’m a dork, sure, but seriously, writing is not only therapeutic for the self but beautiful for others to read as well. Thank you for sharing!
