Hello, Monday

Good morning.

Today is going to be a full day, but I couldn't help checking in just to say, "hi" (okay and add a *few* more words than that).

I'll be calling the doctors' office in just 23 minutes (when they open) to make an appointment for Nolan. He's been dealing with a raspy coffee that just seems to be getting worse. Last night he coughed so hard he threw up. We just want to get him checked out.

I just published a new post over at The Social Eater (the event went well, by the way. I had a blast hanging out with those who stopped by and had some great help. I'm telling you, I could not have done it without help! It was a tiring day, but wonderful. Thanks so much for your support!) and I HAVE to get invitations to Katie's bridal shower out today...+ pictures of Nolan I've been meaning to send to my brother and my grandmother.

I'm planning on squeezing in a few workouts this week (Inside Out Method dvd's and a yoga class) and cutting out sugar (<--check out that link if you want to join me).

I'm putting together a moms' brunch group, grilling out (I hope!), writing more (I hope! I have some ideas churning around in my head) and getting my hair cut at LAST.

I'm looking forward to all of it.

Ok, your turn. Please tell me something about you- what you're looking forward to, how you take your coffee, when you'd like to come over for lunch, anything. I'm (happily!) listening.

  1. Oooh, scary having Nolan sick! Good idea to get him to the doctor. I struggle with coughing too. Sometimes it is LPR or cough-variant asthma (not as scary as regular asthma.) My friend’s infant daughter has it too. Remember, I am a medical doctor, not licensed. Ha, ha. I used to watch a lot of Chicago Hope and ER? Does that count?? I’d love to come over for lunch, but Chicago is a bit far. I don’t like coffee unless I put a hunk of vanilla ice cream in it. I’m looking forward to going hiking this weekend.

  2. My goals this Monday and this week is to keep writing. We also have a doctor’s appointment this week, eeks! Thankfully just for a check up though.

  3. Awesome! I hope both go well. Thanks for sharing with me :-) . I really enjoy getting to know my readers.

  4. Haha, Eating. You crack me up! I actually don’t know what LPR or cough-variant asthma are. Maybe I need to watch more TV so I can diagnose Nolan? :-)
I guess Chicago is a bit far. I was only there once, but Tim and I sometimes talk about flying there just to go to Chicago Diner. Have you been there? (Obviously) we fell in love with it.
Hiking! I have yet to go for a “real” hike this season. I think I *need* to remedy that soon.

  5. Poor Nolan! I hope everything is okay and he feels better soon.

Yay you and your event! It sounds like life is mostly going pretty well. ^_^

I’ve given up coffee for the moment, but normally I drink it with cream, no sugar. Except that really, if I had my preference, I would drink a fluffy fancy syrupy coffee concoction with whipped cream on top every day. ^_^

  6. Katie! How did I miss replying to your comment earlier?! I, too, just take cream in my coffee, no sugar (although I use unsweetened almond milk at the moment), but really? If I could have anything I wanted with no consequences? I’d go for the fluffy, sickly-sweet coffee drinks, too.
But you’ve given up coffee! I’m sincerely impressed.
